Vision

aLife views every child from the moment of conception as a precious gift to be cherished and enjoyed by all. aLife is a secular, non-profit voluntary welfare organisation. It is committed to educating, advising and supporting women and their families on issues related to the unborn child and the mother’s reproductive health.

Mission

aLife strives to provide a holistic support system for families and help underprivileged families through counselling, public education and child support.

SERVICES

Apart from providing direct counseling service, aLife also organizes public talks and events to create awareness towards fertility and also runs children enrichment programme called The Caterpillar Club for children from disadvantaged families.

Counseling Assistance

Our volunteer counselors employ a three-stage process comprising exploration, understanding and action, using the basic counseling skills of attending and active listening.

Public Education

aLife reaches out to the larger community in general through regular talks on family life, relationship and sexuality issues and pregnancy-related topics in schools, polytechnics, universities, libraries and community centres.

The Caterpillar Club

Caterpillar Club was launched in June 2007. It is a children’s enrichment program which aims to:
– strengthen character, identity and resilience.
– enhance the child’s self-esteem and help him/her develop desirable social habits.
– equip the child with necessary life skills which will benefit him/her in adulthood.
– improve his/her literacy and language skills.
It caters to children aged 5-12 from low income families. We get support from organisations like Boy’s Brigade and the Central CDC.

How We Have Helped

Since we started, we have managed to help many clients work through difficult situations through
financial and social assistance, and counselling services. aLife‘s clinic averages 20 clients per month.
